The movie did screen at the Austin Film Festival, but in 2000.

I was just about to post the exact same thing. Even IMDb in its "release dates" section doesn't mention the film playing at any festival (or anywhere, period) in '99.

Pulp Fiction was filmed in '93, yet IMDb uses its release date of 1994, just like it should... I could cite many other examples, so this is truly a mistake.
