Was Rod supposed to come off as kind of like a predator? *Spoilers*

During the second sex scene in Rod's dorm room, it just had a very dark air about it. It wasn't sweet, romantic, or even remotely sexy. Rod just came off very predatory and kind of creepy, and it seemed like Eric wasn't enjoying it much at all.

Am I the only one who saw Rod in this light? He clearly was not meant to be liked, that's for sure.

This is gonna *beep* do for him what "Jade" did for David Caruso.

He liked Eric. But he was focused on boys, school, and a "boyfriend". Eric however fell for him, because he was his first. Been there. He came off at as a jerk, when Eric called at three am. he was kind of shifty anyway.

I understand that completely. I was referring to the part where he asks Eric to let him " *beep* him." Eric was clearly uncomfortable, and Rod kept on going. It just came off very rapey and dark.

It felt that way to me as well. Their first intimate encounter was sweet and Rod seemed like a really caring boy, being gentile all the time. But the second time was a totally different Rod, he just wanted to be pleased and didn't care about Eric at all. He didn't even ask if Eric was okey while they were having sex (knowing it was Eric's first time), moreover it looked like Rod was rushing even if he could tell that Eric was feeling uncomfortable.

By the way, the acting on that scene was amazing. Both did it really well: You can tell there is some kind of fear and sorrow on Eric's face during the scene, but you can also feel Rod's indifference to his former lover. The scene was really hard to watch because of the nice performances.

It was a learning experience.

I noticed it too. I think that moment the next morning where Eric stood there for a moment looking at him before he left the dorm, was him finally realizing Rod wasn't who he thought he was.

Yes, I think that was definitely the implication. The music during the scene made it very sinister and dark.
