Anyone think it just started as a bad THUMBELINA movie?

The THUMBELINA story comes out of nowhere. I suspect this was the movie, only additional footage was needed to make a feature length production, so they slapped in a really bad Santa subplot.

Horrible film altogether though.

I think you're exactly right. That they didn't bother to edit out the "Thumbelina" opening and closing credits only goes to show how much THEY JUST DIDN'T CARE!!!

The producer acquired the existing film THUMBELINA from another producer, then added about 15 minutes of new (terrible) footage.

The only difference 'tween Jesus and the Walking Dead: Jesus asked others to eat HIS flesh.
