Further Proof Hollywood Is Racist...

So let me get this straight, Hollywood is racist because an Welsh woman was cast over an African American woman?

That is retarded.

If there is anyone to cry racism about Hollywood, it's people from the Middle East and Asia, in that people of Arab descent don't get anything but terrorist roles and Asians for a long time only got parts as wise mentors, bad guys and stupid humor roles.

I mean black people even had their own genre blaxploitation flicks. And in case you're wondering i'm of Egyptian descent, and yet I don't make a big deal out of racism, because of all the places to look at, Hollywood is just too insignifigant of a place to start looking.

Also arabs in general face far more negative stereotyping than black people in the movies, and although it gets tiresome and offensive when you think about it, the point is, it's a waste of energy and time to go after a market that simply caters to what people as a whole like. For instance at one time Russians were the big boogeymen, Columbians were always drug lords and Arabs as terrorists, white guys as white collar back stabbers and so on, if I claim offense to this, then I have to be offended by all these stereotypes and I frankly don't care and have enjoyed many action movies with such negative stereotypes.

However your stance on Zeta Jones and Bassett, that's a pretty ridiculous argument that because a particular actress was chosen over another that this proves Hollywood is racist. Honestly Zeta Jones was younger and better looking. That's all there is to it.

I like Angela Bassett's work, BUT she would NOT have been able to pull off this role.

Sometimes, a black person doesn't get something because they really shouldn't get it, not because of racism!!!

Most likely, it was due to Angela Bassett's big ass. She would not have been able to squeeze between the laser beams.
