Why did I like this movie so much when I was 11?

I just was reminded of this movie and have no idea why I would always watch it whenever it was on HBO.

I was about the same age. To me, it's a microcosm of the feelings the new millennium brought. That time of my life was very special, and this movie is one of the little things I remember about it.

OP, you are looking for strangers on the internet to know why you liked some movie when you were 11 years old, and you have no answer yourself? Good grief. How about for the same reason that most people like a film and re-watch it at any age, you found it entertaining.

The better question would be why your taste in movies have changed? Hmm, going from 11 to 24 years old might have something to do with it LOL. Becoming more cynical might be a factor also, but then again only an honest self appraisal from yourself would know for sure.

It wasn't a bad film back then, but it is rather dated now.

I avoided it back in '99 cuz it doesn't seem like it'd have much of a story and the so-called sexiness looked forced and silly. I've decided that next time i come across it in the cheapo bin I'll pick it up. I'm sure it'll be dated and all but maybe I'll like it well enough.
