Clerks parallel?
First of all, close your eyes as Pete's talking ... Is that not Dante you hear? Well that's probably entirely coincidental, but still.
Furthermore, Pete is a very Dante-like character. A 20something at a crossroads in his life who doesn't know what he wants to do, and who has decided to dump a caring girlfriend just because she's not "the one" (in the pilot episode). Berg, of course is Randall. He thinks Pete/Dante is being over-dramatic and that he should take life in stride instead of obsessing over every little detail.
Not to say that there was any thievery afoot, but it's an interesting parallel to draw, especially with the voice thing.
