I wish today we had more movies like the one we have in the past like this one and Cruel Intentions where there's more than just killing the bad guy at the end of the movie.
PS: I feel like I just time traveled back in time watching this movie. Matt was so young. Most of the cast of this movie are now dead or too old.

The ending, to me, is heartbreaking and devastating. And as far as Cruel Intentions goes, Buffy as a brunette cussing like a sailor is always good entertainment.
Another film similar, where the bad guy doesn't get killed off, is Arlington Road. Now that is definitely worth a watch.
Plus The Skeleton Key has one of those endings... Sucker punch, to the gut!
I agree. The story really is complex. I've watched several times and always seem to uncover more about Ripley. Just watched it again and it got me thinking that Ripley may not be his real name either. Is that another impersonation?
Yes, Cruel Intentions is another movie that ends unexpectedly. (Loved seeing "Bianca", from All my Children, swearing like a trucker!)
