I don’t remember watching the trailer back in the day, but I always remembered Morpheus saying that exact line in the film.
Mandela Effect? Hmm, it could all be a bunch hogwash. Faulty memory is perhaps the culprit and there’s nothing more to it. Nonetheless! “What if I told you” is one of those Mandela Effect examples that make me somewhat question reality.

Mandela Effect is real (sadly), not a memory thing.
However, this is not a Mandela Effect, it's just people remembering the meme and associating it with the movie and then creating a wrong memory that way (memes seem to be strong in this world, this meme NEVER made sense to me, why make Morpheus say 'what if I told you', when he never says it in the movie, I always thought that was so stupid and arbitrary).
Also, what is the REAL line supposed to be? "What if I told you.."? Then what does he say (supposedly)? I mean, I am a Mandela Effect-sufferer, so I don't crap on people remembering things that clearly aren't real (anymore in this reality/parallel dimension/planet/whatever), but this just never seemed to be like Mandela Effect to me, and the meme is everywhere.
As somebody who can memorize this movie line-for-line, and have done for about 20 years now... I can confirm, he NEVER said that. Definitely a Mandela effect thing... but not for me, as I know he's never said it, haha...
I've always found the meme amusing none-the-less as it does sound like something Morpheus probably would say... but he definitely didn't!
