Coming to the Irvines Harbour Arts Centre, Friday 30th April.
POV 99 Film Club presents a cracking double bill of two modern day classics of German Cinema.
Doors open at 6.30pm, and first up is Tom Tykwer's multi award winning and BAFTA nominated LOLA RENNT (1998) a.k.a. Run Lola Run at 7pm prompt.
'Lola (Franka Potente) receives a call from her boyfriend Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu). He has managed to lose 100,000DM of gang money on a subway train. Lola has a plan to get the money back, but she only has 20 minutes, otherwise Manni will have to rob a supermarket to replace the money. Lola will have to...run!'
Following at 9pm is Udi Edel's Oscar nominated DER BAADER MEINHOF KOMPLEX (2008) a.k.a. The Baader Meinhof Complex at 9pm.
'The true story of the Red Army Faction lead by Andreas Baader (Moritz Bleibtreu) and Ulrike Meinhof (Martina Gedeck) who were responsible for bombings, robberies, kidnappings, assassinations and various other acts of terrorism in 1970's Germany.'
Both films will be shown on our big screen in full surround sound in the original German language with English subtitles.
The HAC Bar will be open for the duration of the screenings, and drinks can be taken into the auditorium.
