Run Lola Run should have a paranormal thriller remake treatment.

I like Run Lola Run. No really I do. I can see how it's been hugely influential, on Danny Boyle, Edgar Wright etc But I see the film more imortant in the way it plays with narrative structure and camera technique rather than plot and character emphasis. On top of that, the film has dated, with its trance soundtrack and well...90s ethos that seems ot pervade it subliminally.
This is why i believe Run Lola Run, like other 'foreign' films like Oldboy, is extremely ripe for a remake. I love the film to involve the 'groundhog day' type 'play with time' elements of the narrative in the plot itself. That would make the remake more of a paranormal Deja Vu type flick with much more emphasis on the redheaded Lola who repeatedly tries to put things right. Or perhaps she could even travel back in time a day in order to save her boyfriend who gets shot etc Add a Hollywood cop in there i.e. denzel washington/bruce willis...and you have a kind of whodunnit subplot as well as an 'out of time' narrative element embodied by Lola in a sort of X-Files type scenario!!!

Although I am clear on what I'd want from a remake...I have NO idea who I'd cast lol

Ha, I really hope I wasn't mistaken in detecting a hint of sarcasm in that.

Does this mean Easy Rider should be remade because its rock/folk music is dated and the 60's "we generation" ethos was supplanted by the 70's "me generation" ethos?

Fantasizing about remaking a film that doesn't and shouldn't need to be remade is mental masturbation at best and at worst the castration of original thought.
