the woman with the baby

i enjoyed this movie but i must've missed something. how did lola's encounters with the woman pushing the stroller change the woman's life?

the first time: the woman says something about lola being blind
the second time: the woman insults lola by calling her a name
the third time: lola doesn't run into the woman

even if you take out the third scenario on the basis that lola and the woman didn't make contact with each other, the first and second scenarios seemed to take the same amount of time, yet each led to a different future for the woman.

i'm sorry bumping my own thread but does anyone have an answer?

My take on this is that we see 3 different timelines or life streams of (mainly) Lola and Manni.

But the minor characters have them as well.

I personally don't think it was necessarily;the way she bumped into that lady.

I think it was Tom Tykwer emphasizing that the lady with the baby had 3 alternative realities too.

Didn't she bump into her in a different way? I can't remember what the differences were, but it's like the butterfly effect, even a little thing can cause a big change.

such is the nature of chaos: small changes turning into big differences

The second time guy with the dog tripped her over his leg.
