Right movie, wrong time.

I finally watched the film recently and though I enjoyed it greatly, I couldn’t help feeling that I would have enjoyed this so much more when I was a teenager. I regret not seeing it on TV or renting it back then. Obviously something in the TV ad had stuck with me through the years, because it popped in my mind periodically. If only I’d seen it then, it would’ve added more enjoyment to the experience. I probably would have stayed up late to watch the repeat showing in the middle of the night, like I did with “Fight club” and others.

I’m wondering if any of you feel the same about “Lola rennt”, or if you have any other film, that you feel you would’ve enjoyed more if you’d seen it at a different time in your life.

Nope. Not this one anyway. You are probably taking out of it only a small part, the "teenage" part if I may say so. But the actual story, the bit about the couple and money is only a background on which Tykwer painted, with bold strokes, a film which is timeless in every sense of the word.

Clerks II comes to mind. I was 27 when it came out, but I watched it several years later, when I was in my early thirties. I understood why certain situations would be funny to a younger person, the humor was too sophomoric for my more mature tastes.

Personally, I think Run Lola Run appeals to all ages. I saw it during its theatrical run (I was 19), and it's my all time favorite, but my parents and their friends have said good things about it too.
