I just have to ask! Did anyone find the romance between Frik and Morgan Le Fay awesome? I was so touched when she (spoiler! look away if u haven't seen it!!!)
died! Not becuase she died but because Frik was in love with her! I must just be a hopeless romantic! Does anyone know any fanfiction based on this tv movie?
I agree very much. I found the romance between Frik and Morgan to be more compelling than Merlins. Here we have these two so called 'ugly' people, who find each other in a world that wants them to be evil, when all they want is to love each other, even if their beauty is an illusion. It was a very touching story and one of my favorite parts of the movie.

I've seen this movie loads of times and I always liked the romance between Frik and Morgan best. There was something real and honest about the emotions it made me feel. Not to mention that Martin Short looks really hot !!

Frik is possibly my favourite character in Merlin, and I too found his relationship with Morgan Le Fay much more compelling than Merlin's and Nimue's, not to say that I didn't love their pairing as well!
I haven't yet seen any Merlin fanfiction around the internet, although admittedly I dont tend to read fanfiction as much as I did 2 years ago.
I'd say to look it up on www.fanfiction.net .
That website has fanfiction of just about anything, not to mention just about every pairing you could ever think of (fangirls are weird!).

I agree....the romance was very touching, in a manner that was so completely unexpected. Both characters had this odd cynicism about the ways of the world, yet the genuine nautre of their love for each other shone through right at the end.
Admittedly, I also found Merlin's romance beautiful in its own sweet way. Especially earlier on when he was held captive, and he reaches out and plucks the moon out of the sky for Nimue :) It was just a very sweet, endearing moment that captured all the emotions of falling in love perfectly...
at least, in my humble and meagre opinion :P
There's no official section for Merlin at ff.net, but there are several fics floating around the miscellaneous movie section. I've written a couple myself. However, I can't recall reading any where the Morgan/Frik relationship takes centre stage. Nor the Merlin/Nimue romance, come to that. Quite a few Mab-centric ones, though.
Try not to panic. Just think of it as landing a little more vertically than usual
This sub-plot was my favourite of all the stories throughtout, like others say it was human and honest, two underdogs finding each other and falling in love, something about it satyed with my and yes I'm slightly embarrassed to say it brought a tear to my eye also. Both actors played their characters beautifully, I enjoyed the voice that Helena Bonham Carter used for Morgan, very imaginative, and her costume was amazing!
The line she remarks to Merlin, "Beauty is only ever an illusion" was one of the best ever.
Such a touching little story.

Perfectly put.
These two were both cynical and naive at the same time, both used for others' ends, lucky enough to find love that survived reality. Strong enough to make Frik, one who had been so long under the influence of Mab (who knows how many centuries he had worked for her?) to totally abandon her along with the rest of the world. And Frik still believed in happy endings at the end of the movie, even though he didn't get his own.
Is there anything more romantic?
