Do you think there is any chance we'll get to experience this in high-definition? To this date, this is still one of my most favorite movies, probably because I loved it as a kid!

shareSeems unlikely, primarily because there are a lot of special effects shots which were almost certainly created in standard definition, which was the norm at the time for TV shows and miniseries. These (many) shots would have to be redone at great expense for a Blu ray release.
While they did this kind of thing for the old Star Trek series (and now are starting on Next Generation Blu rays), I don't think Merlin is popular enough to offset the cost of a release.
Too bad though. Merlin is a favorite of mine.
(I'd love for someone to tell me that the special effects were originally done in HD for a European theatrical release, or something like that. Then there'd be some hope)
