PLEASE do not reveal anything integral to the plot, guys, as I don't know all the twists or even, for sure, who the killer is. All I know is this: at the very end of the first film, the stalker broke through the shower and lunged at Julie. But she clearly survives, as she's in the second film. So..what happened at the first film's ending?? She won the fight, I guess?

There's a scene right at the beginning after she walks out of class where she says to Will "I had another dream Will" and then he replies "The one in the shower?", which suggests he was referring to the ending scene from first movie.
