Does anybody know if there is a reason Kevin didn't write the sequel to I KNOW..?
i thought ,with the exception of a few things here and there, this movie was awful.
That "gossip girl dude" really couldn't act back then.

shareHe was too busy I guess, Dawson's Creek had started and he was developing other film & TV projects.
shareHe would've demanded a considerable amount of $ after the success of Scream and the first IKWYDLS. I don't blame him, Hollywood is cheap and they probably felt like they could hire someone else to do the same job and pay them a lot less and therefore have more money to shoot the film with... that's my best guess
shareHe may not have wanted to do a sequel to it. It's kind of a mistake to assume a writer does a film with a sequel in mind.

They had about 13 months to get the movie from concept to screen. Kevin Williamson was writing Dawson's Creek, The Faculty, helping out on Halloween H20, and gearing up to direct Teaching Mrs. Tingle at this point. I'm willing to bet that the studio took a spec script, didn't credit the original writer, and placed Julie and her friends and their drama in the center of it. The movie feels about 2 or 3 rewrites short of something good.
