not sure whether its the numerable (scary hopelessness hold your breathe scenes)great scenes or the music that anchored this movie to my brain

Agreed. I watched this movie years ago and it still sticks with me. I think it's the ridiculously brilliant music, and I do mean ridiculous. I never loved/hated a soundtrack so much. Interesting film that won't leave my head.

It's authenticity is what makes this film special.

The breathtaking locations, the folk-horror score, the great acting and the very subtle direction.
