I don't know how they got top actors for this movie, but it was like an acting vacation to test out comedy plots. Somebody somewhere must know the origins of how the silly sound track, acting, dialogue, and visuals came about. I especially liked the great love scene in the gigantic bear trap at the end. Now I want to know how do you pump a rating this high on IMDb for a movie this bad?

shareI think this movie has high ratings because it is, in fact, a really cool movie.
But I think that to truly appreciate "Ravenous" you have to see it for what it really is; a very dark comedy, rather than a real horror movie. This is the reason why the characters and some of the scenes are a bit caricatured, I think. Personally I find the dialogue great and very funny.
Of course, it's a matter of opinion, though.
This is one of those rare movies where I just cannot decide if the filmmakers were deliberately trying to be funny or not. It had juuuuuuuust a touch of black humor, but not so much that I could be sure it wasn't just my own twisted mind supplying it.
I love when that happens!
I understand this take.
For me it landed in no mans lands, not funny or blatantly comedic yet at the same time definitely a goofy film so it can't be taken completely seriously.
Bizarre tone.
