Best/favorite line?

"Boyd, noooooooo!"

reply

"that was very....sneaky"

it was delivered hilariously

"We just need a home...and this country...is seeking to be whole, stretching out it's arms and consuming everything it can. And we merely follow." - Ives

Just a short quote that brought a little political statement into it...I thought it was brilliant.

reply

Hey, you've seen my other favorite movie, too! (Right?) "You know what play is, don't you, Trumpy?"

reply

Did you know that was a total ad-lib from Robert Carlyle? He even made himself laugh after the line... so that laugh there is genuine. I have to agree that this is also one of the best lines of the movie. :)

reply

yes!! I loved that line too, especially with the pause when you have just a moment to wonder what he's going to say...

reply

That was probably my favorite line as well.

---
I hear his theme music, he's around here somewhere...

reply

Definitely "If you die first, I'm gonna eat you"

There are so many to choose from, but...hmmm...

I guess it would have to be

"My advice is, don't get sick. I'd tell you not to eat, but most of us have to..."

reply

"It's hard being a cannibal. Tough making friends." - Colonel Hart

reply

Ives says "run?!" and then Toffler runs scared as hell ^^

"he was licking me!"

Big George: What's a philistine?
Sally: Well, it's just a real dirty person.

reply

"He was licking me!"

Best line ever.

reply

My favorite line too, gives me chills and laughs at the same time. The line that I always remember first when I think of this good film.

reply

its like $6.99 at best buy now.. go get it!

reply

Hart - "So. Uh, you have a hobby, Boyd?"
Boyd - "Swimming."
Hart - "Hmm. Hope you don't mind hard water."

Hart - "Private Reich. He's our soldier. I'd steer clear of him."

Hart - "The over-medicated Private Cleaves."

Hart (to Cleaves) - "I want you back in three days. No loco-weed, no peyote, & no women."

reply

BOURBON NOWWWW!!!! heheheh he was LICKING me :D

reply

That was very .. sneaky! cracked me up big time xD

reply

"BOURBON NOW!!" hahaha and I loved....

"that was very....sneaky"

And I loved the scene where Boyd is have conflicting thoughts on eating Riech and says....

"God damn you ..your dead...your safe now...your safe now" just loved that line for some odd reason

reply

"It's lonely being a cannibal. Tough making friends."

reply

"HE WAS LICKING ME!"

How amazingly creepy was that?

reply

"Did you find Cleaves?"

"No."

"Did you check around outside?"

"...No."

"THEN CHECK AROUND OUTSIDE, WOMAN!"

reply

I enjoyed almost all the dialogues and the plot as a whole. But the "...sneaky" ending was almost genious, I agree.
Damon Albarn's music theme is also stunning and very convenient to the plot.

reply

It was the music that tipped me off that this is not just another horror movie -- who would have thought of using a squeeze box and a banjo and making music that (a lot of it, anyway) sounds like they really could have played it in 1847?

Oh, yes, Ives' rather good-natured reaction with the "sneaky" line is a thing of genius. It caught me by surprise. A lot of things in this movie have that effect. It's hardly possible to pick out one favorite line.

But ... "Boyd, nooooo!" in Cleaves' whiny voice is so funny, it's my favorite thing to say when something annoying happens.

reply

"Ask Major Knox! Major Knox was there!"

"Major Knox?"

"Ask Major Knox!"

"Major Knox?"

"Major Knox."

(Cut to Knox)

"Doesn't look familiar to me, Sir."

"That is terrible advice, Ant1238."

reply

Heh-heh-heh! But you gotta do it with the terrified stammer, i.e.:

"Mm-major Knox!"

"Major Knox?"

"Mm-major Knox!"

"Major Knox?"

"Mm-major Knox!"

This is the most quotable movie ...
