Robert Carlyle

I have to admit, if not for RC's performance, this would have been a big time bust. He adds so much to the film, especially when he returns as the Col. Ives. His complete and utter joy of mentally tormenting Pearce was a delight to watch. I'm convinced that every movie should write in a bit part for Mr. Carlyle as he, like bacon, makes everything better.

I agree with you. Carlyle is without doubt the cream on the top of this movie, although I actually consider the performances quite solid over-all.

I wouldn't mind Carlyle being in all movies. :)

I can think of a few, he'd bring up to a reasonable standard.

I like this movie overall. And movies like this are generally not my cup of tea. One of the more interesting, offbeat films of the 90s. But, yes, Carlyle's performance is probably the standout of the film.
