How pissed is Meg Ryan's character gonna be when Tom Hanks tells her that he knew who she was since the first date was supposed to happen and he let her think she got stood up? Hahahaha, that'd be an awkward conversation.

She'd certainly realize that on her own, probably fairly soon. She arranged to be at Cafe Lalo, with a book, expressly so NY152 would recognize her as Shopgirl. Once she knows that NY152 is Joe, it follows that Joe recognized her as Shopgirl. So that awkward conversation could have popped up before Joe was prepared for it.
