Slight problem with the math at the end

Ok so Mikey borrows 10,000 from the professor and goes to play KGB.

He doubles up to 20k. He says he can pay back Grandma 15k debt and half way to pay back the professor. So far math is good.

But then he wins and doubles up again. He now has 40,000. He pays off grandma and the professor for 25k and then says he pays back the chesterfield 6k. Then has 3 stacks of high society (30k) slightly ignoring a rounding error.

So how does his 40 k become 60k? Does he continue grinding in NYC and this is just offscreen? No way would anyone play him in the KGB club.

Mike spotted KGB's tell and laid down his cards on a check and then KGB gets miffed, tossing his cookies at Grandma. He then says "Son of bieetch, let's play some cards" which meant to me that KGB filled the pot with more of his own money so there's where the increase happened?

Not in a long time have I played, but I do have HBO/MAX who has this on their movie list. After replaying the final rematch I caught the scene that I remembered signaling to the audience that Mike had coaxed KGB into increasing the pot. The whole "sheck, sheck, sheck!" that KGB was screaming about is when he know that Mike figured him out, so he let him win the pot and took the winnings.

stuck my toes back in the waters of poker recently, have not been running good these last couple trips but the game's still very enjoyable to me

I think we assume KGB reloads/tops up his stack during the match.

Ok so heres the thing about reloading:

Mike buys in for 10k, he doubled up to 20k.

Kgb rebuys. We assume he wont disadvantage himself and will match with a 20k rebuy.

Mike wins again he now has 40k. Kgb could have topped up but in round 1 he never did. In the last round he didnt either. He busted out and rebought for full.

Kgb buys in again.. would he buy in short? He buys in for 40k. Mike clears him out.. he would now have 80k.

We would also see an even bigger pile of chips in front of mike right?

KJB may have bought in for 20k after Mike had 40. That would have been more than enough big blinds.
Indeed in the final poker scene, we see in the final hand Mike has roughly double KGB´s chips. When Mike calls the all in, if they were close to even in chips, they would have asked for a count at least but Mike clearly had him covered which is presumably why they didn´t.

Ok I rewatched the movie for fun and figured out the answer to my own question.

KGB rebought for 40K. When you see them playing round 2, KGB clearly begins with more chips than Mikey. I guess he was allowed ot give himself an advantage because it was his club.
