Very odd, Citizens of Holland not speaking Dutch...

I myself live in The Netherlands, and have been to Rotterdam many times.
What bugs me is the fact that when Jackie for example goes into an alley, the citizens speak english with an english accent.
Like the dude that came out of the store that sold *klompen*. (Those wooden shoes)
Ofcourse, I understand that they couldn't make their actors learn dutch, but still.
It kinda looks odd this way.

Yeah your right, i thought that was kinda odd too, but there's this little scene where 2 military people take off and say to each other "lekker bakkie doen" or something similar too that. haha that made me laugh.

the wooden shoes street wasnt rotterdam it was dordrecht, i was there when they shooted it but it was taped off for the day.

Well, they typically film Hong Kong Films (even ones that are not shot in Hong Kong) without sound and dub over the voices in post-production. This is why a lot of the secondary characters' voices don't match up. Also, the CIA head's voice is quite clearly dubbed over. However, it's odd that it seems the main villain did all of his dialogue in English (you can hear ambient sound in the back whereas you hear nothing when you're listening to something that was recorded in a studio).

it really wasnt that odd, considering how the other 90% of the movie made no sense as well

I agree, it's ridiculous.

The Scientists though, are dutch.

The scene with the special cube houses in Rotterdam, features a thug that grabs Jackie and yells: ''Ik heb 'm!!'' (Meaning: I got him !!)

But apart from that, I can't think of any. Movies like Hostel also feature Amsterdam's people speaking German. Because who cares? Foreigners won't notice..

It's sad..

Besides the accent being from an Englishmen, don't nearly all Dutch speak English too?
