Watching this episode, it's obvious the animators put in a lot of effort to portray the correct body language in He-Man, She-Ra and Frosta. Why, I have never seen so many facial expressions on He-Man in an episode! As kids, we probably won't understand or appreciate Frosta hitting on He-Man throughout the episode...Maybe some of us would try not to be caught watching this stuff...But hey, it's the best episode of the She-Ra series!
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks "Sweet bee's home" is the best "She-ra" episode. Man, it's amazing!
Yeah, so many facial expressions...I got the feeling like the director Tom Tataranowicz broke almost every rule in the He-man/She-ra universe: sensuality, alive and quirky characters, dark images, weird humor, emotions and vibrant facial expressions. That episode overshadowed almost everything in the series and after watching it I wished every episode was as good as this.
My favorite parts: when Frosta tries to kiss He-man with passion ( and takes his hair in her arms ) but She-ra interrupts her by saying: "He-man, why are you always with Frosta?!" and when Frosta was lying under He-man who saved her. Wonderful and touching.
Well...if you saw "Utena" then you would see a real incestuous hint. That was just Adora's way of teasing her brother. I'm sure if it were any deeper then Filmation would have put a stop to it.
As a matter of fact, I think we never saw He-man being in love with anyone. Don't you find that weird?!!
I think there were several *hints* through out the He-man series that Adam was head over boots for Tella, however I don't think the writers wanted to much "mushy stuff" in what was essentialy a "boys" cartoon. Keeping that in mind, it makes sence that the "Girls" cartoon has all kinds of romantic twists to fire a little girls imagination. Females tend to appreciate that kind of thing more. As for She-ra trying to keep her friends off her brother, speaking as a little sister who had friends who crushed on her big brother, I think it was perfectly natural and very realistic.
