She-Ra Live Action Movie?!?!?

I was just wondering if anybody else would like to see a movie, like they did with He-Man years ago. I would pay a vast ammount of moey to see it!
But the all important question is....who would immortalise the Princess of Power on the big screen???

reply

I think Jennifer Garner would be good for the part of She-ra at least she can act. I just hope it's not Lindsey Lohan. I do like her acting on some things but shes NO She-ra.

reply

Ok Here's my recommendation

She-Ra: Elisha Cuthbert.
He-Man: Ryan Reynolds.
Bow: Jared Padilecki.
Hordac: Mark Hamill.
Mantena: Steve Bescemi.
Shadow Weaver: Sigourney Weaver.
Madam Razz: Maggie Smith.
Cowell: Bob Hoskins.
Frosta: Kirsten Dunst.
Mermista: Clemence Poesy.
and
Spirit: White Arabic Horse.

Let me know what you think or object too.

reply

Great pick for Mantena!! He would be sooo funny!

Well behaved women rarely make history. - Eleanor Roosevelt

reply

Ryan Reynolds as He-Man? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME - especially circa 2006, but even now. When someone recommended him for Bow, I thought that was bad enough, but to have him play Prince Adam and the "most powerful man in the universe" is LUDICROUS!!!!! Even Brad Pitt would have been better.

Sigourney Weaver as Shadow Weaver - I can see that, and I love the irony there too when it comes to there names. lol

Maggie Smith wouldn't have been athletic enough to play Madame Razz, even back in 2006.

Kirsten Dunst is much too nondescript to play Frosta in my opinion. Frosta needs a very charismatic actress to do the Ice Empress justice.

reply

I hope every one won't think I'm crazy, but I think possibly Lucy Lawless, she played Xena in Xena Warrior Princess, would do a fabulous job as She-Ra. She's tall with piercing blue eyes. She's also really a blonde, she dyed her hair black for the role of Xena. She did all the horse riding stunts in the show, she grew up with horses. Making her very capable of riding Swift Wind. For the role of Xena she had years of training with gymnastics and sword fighting. The story line of Xena is almost exactly like She-Ra. Evil becomes good... Good fights evil...

Battle on Lucy...For the honor of Grayskull... perhaps...

reply

I don't know I do like Kirsten Dunst she's great at playing sweet characters. I just don't see her as a butt kicking She-ra. Or as rebel leader Adora. I think she do great as Glimmer or Mermista.

reply

Thank you xfilehpgal03.

reply

I can't see Bruce Campbell playing Skeletor. Don't get me wrong, I like him. The way his voice sounds, the way he talks is always like he's being scarcastic, even though he's being serious.

reply

Hey Coastie Mouse the line in your sig is the universal greeting from Transformers :The movie. (one of my all time favorite, except for Optimus's death)

interestingly I can see Mark Hamill as Hordak his face kinda reminds me of him.
As She-ra I would probably go with Scarlett Johanson or SMG. It would be interesting if they actually made an R rated dark and violent She-Ra movie.(hopefully with some nudity in it as well :D)

"I'll be back Bennett" - John Matrix (Commando)

reply

That would only ruin the whole movie.

OK, here's another recommendation of suitable actors

Kristen Adams- Sher-Ra.
Ryan Gosling- Hem-Man.
Alan Rickman- Lighthope.
Luke Wilson- Bo.
Mark Hamill- Hordack, I still think he's a good choice.
Jessica Pare- Mermista.
Bob Hoskins- Cowell, I still think he's a good choice.
Kirsten Dunst- Frosta.
Geraldine McEwen- Shadow Weaver.

Anbody have any objections?

reply

Torrie Wilson
Heather Graham
Pamela Anderson

reply

HELL NO she-ra actually needs to have brains and not be old

reply

Tough one. It's difficult to find an actress who looks like she could kick your ass, is still beautiful, and can act.

I think in order for the movie to work the lead actress must be able to change her character with her body and speech to be Adora and She-Ra. Right now, I can't picture who that could be.

Lucy Lawless is the epitomy of this. But I'm not suggesting her, I rather see her in a Xena movie.

reply

Uh... you DO know how the Xena TV series ended, right? No way is a movie going to happen, other than the animated one with Hercules from way back or unless it's all in flashback. Those who have seen Xena all the way through would probably understand when I suggest Rene O'Connor for Adora. She's got the She-ra voice almost down pat, and... well... let's say that the torch was passed to her for a reason.

reply

"Frosta: Milla Jovovich has she had blue hair yet "

Yeah actually she has LOL...

I think it was blue anyway. Ultraviolet was the movie.

reply

Nudity in a She-Ra movie? That is so disgusting on so many different levels.

reply

a younger victoria pratt (mutant x) as she-ra

reply

yup but she's too old now

reply

Lucy Lawless & Brigette Neilson have had experience with these typs of charactors before, but the first is clearly the better choice. We musn't forget her performance in "Xena, Warrior Princess".

reply

Thus why she should play Xena, not She-Ra. Plus I'll be squeling like a FanGirl to see her with that beautiful jet Black hair again.

reply

I think Heather Graham. http://imdb.com/gallery/ss/0145660/3.html

Look at this picture and tell me she doesn't scream She-Ra.

Denise Richards to me as the looks of She-ra, so she is my best option

If the new He-Man movie in 2008 becomes a success we'll probably be seeing She-Ra and her friends with foes and here's my cast.

Hordak: Frank Langella (From the original "Masters of the Universe" movie who played Skeletor) or Hugo Weaving.

She-Ra/Adora: Playmate Kendra Wilkinson (Mmmm mmm, thinks of the sexy thought of her playing the role) or Heather Graham.

Glimmer: Sarah Michelle Geller.

Bow: Ryan Reynolds.

Catra: Chrisma Carpenter or Kelly Hu, they are sooo sexy they would be yummy for the role of the sexy Catra.

Voice of "Kowl": Steve Carrell.

Voice of "Swiftwind": Liam Neeson.

Voice of "HordePrime": James Earl Jones or Michael Ironside ("Scanners", "Total Recall", "Starship Troopers").

Voice of "Broom": Anthony Michael Head.

Scorpia: Selma Hayak.

Mantena: Jeffery Combs ("Re-Animator").

"Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb"-Batman.

reply

How about Charlize Theron as She-Ra? Just a thought.

reply

Yes Steel Spydr is right on.

Charlize Theron as She-Ra/Adora.

Daniel Goddard as Adam/He Man. He use to play Dar on Beastmaster: The Series.

Ron Pearlman as Hordak

Jayne Seymore as the Sorceress

Kelly Hu as Katraa

Steve Bushima as the Voice of Manatee

Tia Carrera as Shadow Weaver

Roma Downy as Queen Angela

Alison Mack as Glimmer

David Boreanaz as Bow

I know he wasn't in Secret of the Swords but John Glover as the voice of Light Hope.

reply

How about John Malkovich as Hordak?

reply

If there is to be a live-action film. I would Recommand:

Elisha Cuthbert: She-Ra.
Ryan Reynolds: He-Man. (Baring in mind he's only supporting She-Ra)
Mark Hamill: Hordak.
Liam Neeson: Lighthope/Spirit.
Bob Hoskins: Cowl/Cringer/Battlecat.
Luke Wilson: Bo.
Steve Bescemi: Mantenna.
Melendry Brit: Shadow Weaver/Madam Razz.
Kirsten Dunst: Frosta.
Jessica Pare: Mirmista.
Kate Mara: Sweetbee.

reply

Even in 2006, Charlize Theron wouldn't have been able to play She-Ra AND Adora. She-Ra, yes, but not Adora.

reply

My choice: "She-Ra The Movie"

She-Ra: Cate Blanchet or Liv Tyler
He-Man: Joseph Finnes or Ben Affleck
Hordak: Anthony Hopkins
Shadow Weaver: Geraldine McEwan (Mortiana "Robin Hood Prince of Theives")
Glimmer: Jessica Alba
Queen Angela: Mare Winningham
Bow: Owen Wilson
King Randor: Richard Attenbourgh
Queen Marlena: Shirley Maclaine

Anyone I'm forgetting?

reply

I just saw something online w/ a supposed movie poster of She-Ra: Princess of Power. This was the cast list I saw

She-Ra: Kiera Knightley
Hordak: Christopher Walken
Catra: Angelina Jolie
Glimmer: Eliza Cothbert
Bow: James Franco

That's what I saw, not sure if it was a real poster or not. I was just browsing

reply

Can you give a link to the site?

reply

Keira Knightley is still an interesting consideration for Adora and She-Ra, I'll admit!! She has both the physique and the acting chops to tackle both roles, even if she's not the perfect choice (a million times better than a lot of other actresses mentioned on this thread though!!!!!)

Christopher Walken is much too lifeless and dull an actor to play a character like Hordak.

Angelina Jolie would be intriguing as Catra, but James Franco would have to build an entirely different physique to play Bow.

reply

Anthony Hopkins and Shirley Maclaine would have been too old to play Hordak and Queen Marlena - yes, even in 2006. Hordak and Marlena are middle-aged characters, not old.

Cate Blanchett would have made a better She-Ra than Charlize Theron, I think - because she has that effortless grace and dignity about her - but I don't think she would have been right as Adora too.

She-Ra: Stacey Keibler
Adora: Sarah Michelle Gellar
He-Man: John Cena or Randy Orton
Adam: Mark Wahlberg
Hordak: Gary Oldman
Skeletor: Jeremy Irons or John Malkovich if he were willing to beef up a little
Shadow Weaver: For voice reasons, lol, Bea Arthur
Catra: Famke Janssen or Rosario Dawson
Scorpia: Uma Thurman
Glimmer: Michelle Tractenberg or Anna Paquin
Madame Razz: Rue McClanahan or Betty White. Either would be perfect
Bow: Josh Hartnet
Frosta: Milla Jovovich
Queen Angela: Geena Davis

Just a few of who I think would be good in those roles

I not sure about some of these choice but if it makes you happy
my only problem with some of these choice is that they are too old adora is suppose to be 19-22 ish and well I think anyone older than 27-28 loses the confusion and voice of that age

reply

Too bad they would need someone a lot younger than what I was thinking when I watched an episode on youtube today. I never watched this show, but she sort of reminded me from the commercials I saw of Xena Warrior princess. LOL! But then as Adora, she sort of looked like Candace Bergan. I know she's too old now though.

reply

I know, but She-Ra is supposed to look differant than Adora. Just my opininon :)

I kinda like blonde Angelina as She-Ra.... and how about Sienna Miller?

reply

Id like to see Rachel McAdams play Adora/She-Ra.
She can act for one thing!!
Id be most interested in which other actresses they would recruit for the supporting villains..thats ALOT of actresses!
Catra..Scorpia..Castaspella..Glimmer..Frosta..Mermista..Entrapta..Netossa..Peekablue..Shadow Weaver..Sweet Bee..etc etc etc......
Who would be Hordak though!!????

" outnumbered?...outclassed is more like it!"..Evil-Lyn

reply

Rachael McAdams in this kind of role screams miscast. It doesn't matter how good or versatile you are as an actor, some parts you just cant play, regardless of talent.

Vicky Pratt is way too buff.

I'll again say Mark Hamill as Hordak. Come on he didnt get the joker (which I believe he really deserved in the new batman movie) role and I think he needs to be back in the acting business. (At least in something mainstream)
