Creepy
The first time I ever watched this movie I was in the midst of my "stoner" way of life. I was going to college, smoking pot several times a day, and basically wasting my life away. I always remembered while watching the movie (almost always high) that it gave me this really sick eerie feeling. I could never really put a finger on it until recently. Keep in mind I don't smoke pot anymore...so my mind is a little sharper than it used to be. But while watching it, I realized that this movie's dialouge is trying to be very suggestive. Kind of like when a hypnotist tries to make you think a certain way...don't know if that makes sense but a good example would be when Serena is talking to Jamie Kennedy's character for the first time. Serena uses the word "you" quite a bit. "YOU, will goto New York." "YOU, will do this." Etc...etc....Very creepy scene while high I might add.
Not to mention the story really never takes you anywhere, but it's quick to throw in absurd pointless dialogue or scenes that seem to have some underlining meaning but ultimately mean nothing.
Watching this movie sober as opposed to when I first watched it while high on pot, I now know that this movie is pretty terrible. It has a couple good moments and some of the actors (Luke Wilson, Jeremy Sisto, Andy Dick, and Amy Locane) are very charismatic, so it makes it easier to follow along and stay interested...but honestly looking at this movie from two states of mind now. I must say, its just not good. I would put this movie on par with that other piece of crap that came out a few years back called "London". Both movies are perfect examples of a writer trying to throw all his "drugged out" experiences onto paper without giving the audience something a little more substantial to enjoy. Anyway...that's kinda all I got...just curious how other people felt about this movie.
