A possible good comedy ruined by unrealistic cons and uneven farce

Anyway my problem with this movie was the fact that every man thought with his penis. This kept them from seeing through the most pathetic long and short cons ever. Every one fell for their pathetic short cons - chunks of glass in a salad, a free hotel suite from a slip and fall. a long con in which a chop shop owner coughs up 300 grand on an unconsumatted marriage.

Just because it is a comedy doesn't mean logic and reality can be ignored.

This ruined a movie that could have been a great movie.

I mean the 9 year old kids line was great the steal tartar scene was great. The true love story was great.

The pathetic cons that my cat wouldn't fall for just ruined it for me.

A great cast and a great opportunity wasted

The problem is that some of the movie is farce and some of it is played straight and if something is a farce everyone most be in on the frace. Instead you have two different movies that don't fit together.

I mean the first thing is they steal or cheat for everything from drinks to cigarettes to gas. No one does that because that is how you get caught. It's like beating a fare after robbing a bank.

I mean as soon as I saw her feeling up the statue she accidentally bought I knew that they were going to break. Oh come on!

The Hackman Weaver scenes went to far.

Now I can see someone saying the over the top stuff is balanced by the screwball romance and the return of someone from the beginning of the movie wraps up all the loose ends in a nest package. That is a legitimate argument, However the farcical elements went too far for me.

This is a movie, not a documentary. I think it is a great movie.

I also disagree. Its a comedy, and things are allowed to be light hearted, and dont have to be realistic. Very good movie.

It's a film.
Derogatory stereotypes of men are mandatory and films are made to stroke the fragile female ego which is that no man would ever turn a woman down and finds every women sexy and wants to sleep with her.

It's not sexist because it's men that's being made fun of and not women.
this does mean we need to ignore the sexist attitudes of women towards men and how the writers of these films show their obvious hate of men
