'There's only one man in the world.'
Saw this film today on TV and was puzzled when Paige (sp?) said that to Jack after she caught him "sleeping" with her mom. What did she mean by that?

shareI was wondering the same thing?! Any ideas anyone?? Does it refer the the (unmentioned?) missing father figure, or that all men are just "marks"?
I was actually an extra in this movie and watched it again with my new guy a couple days ago. I didn't even catch that line back in the day. It was a fun experience and everyone was a joy to work with --except Ray Liotta, who is a conceited A$$.
I think she was trying to say that all men are the same. Basically grouping us all together lol
shareThere is only one man in the world and his name is All Men. There is only one woman in the world and her name is All Women. There is only one child in the world and the child?s name is All Children. ?Carl Sandburg, from prologue to The Family of Man (1955)

shareShe meant that all men are the same; there's only one type of man that exists - the kind that will cheat. She was convinced that Jack wouldn't respond to her mother's advances because he's a good guy and loves her, and her mom says "Men don't turn women down."

I was once told that she was implying that Jesus be the only man of this world.
