-brit gangters movies ala Snatch, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, or Sexy Beast
-Fargo
-Millers Crossing (limited violence)
-obviously pulp fiction
there are many more but thats it off the top of my head
-Layer Cake
-The Way Of the Gun

"A History of Violence" is a great comparison.
Tarantino movies, of course.
