When Nick was in the phonebooth saying bye to Casey, was he dying? It kind of seemed like he was having trouble breathing and he was covered in blood, and it looked like he was pressing his hand into his abdomen. The way they ended that part kind of left it open. I wasn't sure.

yeah i'm pretty sure he had been shot and was pretty much saying his goodbyes, at the very end of the scene he nearly collapses what looks to be from a wound in the abdomen
