when jake and the shoe store guy are jokin about the arthritis and everything, does the guy know what it really is? this may be a stupid question but im just curious if anyone knows for sure

Yea the shoe store guy knows what the tracking device really is. I would say pretty much anybody in the hood wouldn't have to think very hard to figure out why a dude has a little box attached to his ankle.

Of course he knew. He was playing along with Jake's arthritis shtick, while knowing Jake was really on house arrest. That was a great scene. It was funny.

Correct he knew that's why he smirked and went along with Jake's story. You can clearly see the expression in his face. There's another scene where Lala lies to Jake about Deandre being her brother and Jake goes along with the story just like the shoe store salesman did.

.'As the others mentioned the shoe salesman knew exactly what that was. He was being humorous in a non snarky "it's ok man I get you're embarassed but I know you're harmless" way.

I'm watching the movie now for the first time in forever, so I figured I'd hit up the message board.

In response to your post, I felt compelled to say from strictly an observational point of view, and not an attack in any way, but if you honestly didn't know that the shoe salesman got it, even after listening to their entire conversation, then I can only say that I hope in the past 6 years you have gotten better at picking up even the most in-your-face social cues.

I mean come on man. Seriously.
