The agent scene

The Italian guy is sweet talking Jesus while Lala and Deandre are in the pool..well he's pretty much fingering her in the pool when she's in his arms. Meanwhile Jesus is just casually looking on?!?

That never made sense to me..maybe its there to show that in reality he didnt care about her at all?

If I remember correctly he did a kind of double-take; he couldn't exactly go crazy at that moment, even if he wanted to.

I think it was Lala's job to get Jesus to meet the agent, so in the pool her mission was complete and she really didn't care if Jesus saw her with DeAndre. I'm guessing Jesus figured this out at that moment or soon after. What I got from the movie is that Jesus' and Lala's relationship was a sham, at least for the period of time that the movie showed; she was basically hired to be (or continue to be) his girlfriend. And the fact that he cheated on her with two girls during the college visit showed that neither of them were really committed to the relationship.

I don't believe that at all. Pay attention to the scenes where Lala and Jesus were riding the bus, going to school, and hanging out on the boardwalk. She was his homegirl and she did genuinely care about him but she was also a kid who made mistakes and got caught up in the temptations of a multi-million dollar contract and a better life for her and Jesus, which led to her selling out. The look on Lala's face when Jesus made his decision indicated she was ultimately proud of him for following his heart. She was no angel but she was not the company hoe either, like the one who was seducing Tommy Gunn in Rocky V.

The agent's acting was so incredibly painful to watch that I was blinded to anything that was actually happening in the scene.

How the hell scene-ruiners like that get hired is WAY beyond my comprehension.
