I watched this movie last night for the first time
I had no prior information on what the movie was about, I heard the name before, and saw it was rated 4 stars. All it said was "Orphan trained in medicine decides to take a diferent path in life". So, I started watching (missed the first 20 mintes, but still was enjoying it).
I'm not a highly religous person, nor am I strong on pro-life/choice, so when i saw the first abortion my first thought was, maybe that was more acceptable in that time.
I am not a liberal at all, and I don't really agree with liberal's attitude on life.
So, back to the movie: I'm enjoying the movie, and haven't picked up on the overall tone of the movie until Mr. Rose's daughter is pregnant. Maybe I'm slow, but it wasn't until that point that I realized this is a movie pushing pro-choice on people. Then I started hearing the anti-christian statements. And suddenly, this movie that I thought was going to be more about Homer's life experiences was nothing more that a liberal lesson, and as usual, it uses extreme situations to try to get their point across (similar to how they try to get everyone to go green by showing us the world is coming to an end in 10 years!)
Oh well, the movie had it's good parts, but after putting all the pieces together, it really is a shame that liberals really believe that this is how the world should operate.
I'll end this with a view on politics. A liberal president is like that Dad of a friend you knew as a teenager. That dad that not only let his kid smoke weed, but joined along with him. Sure, he was the popular dad, and the cool dad, but, in the long run, how did that son turn out? Probably not that well.
Now your other friend had a strict father (the republican), one you didn't want to mess with, and knew the rules. You enjoyed you time with that friend, but he was not that available as the previous friend because of his responsibilities put on him by his father. You may have even learned some responsibilities yourself by know him. How did that son turn out? Probably very sucessful.
