The Cider House Rules = A Very Good Movie
It's funny...a good movie will come up and bite you, when you don't expect it!
I taped this 1999 movie in 2011 and just watched it, not knowing what to expect.
And I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The acting was very good, the cinematography {sp?} excellent.
One minor problem for me was the role of Candy, as I felt she seemed so much older to be carrying on with Homer...but regardless, both Toby Maguire and Charlize Theron {what a beauty, by the way} were shining throughout.
And Michael Caine: well, it would be a frosty Friday before one would EVER find him NOT top-knotch.
Caine was very good again in this role ~ he's a consummate actor.
Overall, I think IMDb audience have this one pegged at 7.5, and I certainly agree.
