I guess we can only imagine that she went off on her bicycle and lived happily ever after, withot her Daddy molesting her.

Hers is a supporting role. She has a couple great scenes with Tobey Maguire and Charlize Theron, respectively, and is overall a heartbreaking character. I was pleasantly surprised that she's a good actress. I've only known her as a singer and didn't realize she was in this film until I just watched it.
.
She has a pretty strong supporting role and she did a great job in it.
shareIF YOU PLAN ON READING THE BOOK DO NOT READ BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the book the story takes place over a much longer time period and Rose Rose was actually a love interest of Homer and Candy's son (not going to get into that). They see Rose Rose and her mother when she's a little kid and then they don't show up for years. Then when Angel (Homer's son) is about 16 she appears again and we learn the mother passed away. Candy finds out Mr. Rose is committing incest by climbing on the ciderhouse roof with all of the orchard workers and hears the unmistakeable noise below her. They take Rose Rose away from Mr. Rose and think about driving her to St. Clouds but find out that Larch just passed away. Homer gives her the abortion, Muddy gives her the knife and she kills her father and hitchhikes away from Maine without anybody ever hearing from her again.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dudeshare

Glad you posted this! I'm not a big John Irving fan but I love this film, Erykah Badu's performance and always felt bad that she disappeared like that. That's some pretty wild stuff, with her, Homer, Wally AND Candy all bed-hopping! According to my mother, "sex wasn't important in those days"! lol
About Erykah, I never knew she was a singer until she appeared on the Colbert Report (I think) a couple yrs. ago and sang a great song...something like "Those Were The Days"...it had a very 70's feel to it. She also looked much prettier without her Rose Rose hairdo.
She deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die.
