How come Pro-Choice don't say "I lost the clump of cells"

..when they lose their "baby". The pro-choice women who want to conceive don't say when they miscarry, "sorry dear, I lost the cells".

And we don't know when the cells reach that line from clump of cells >>>baby. I suppose that is determined by "choice" also. or do we know by xray?

I would say for a female to say she lost her baby or child when she miscarries is appropriate, regardless of it being an embryo or fetus. If it was a child she wanted, it is fair enough to think of it as a baby. An aborted fetus wasn't wanted. The mother may have no emotional connection to what would eventually become known as a baby and while some may find it psychologically distressing and much of that could be due to attitude of others who are pro-life and pass judgment on these women, some may also not feel conscionable about it. Why should they?

On an episode of House a patient was pregnant and her baby needed surgery. House would only refer to the baby as a fetus. When he was operating you see a tiny hand reach out and touch him. After that he said "baby" instead

Do you recall if they commented on the show how many months pregnant the lady was? For a doctor, he may also be acting professional and using the technical terms which would be normal, until a more innate sense of humanity can be triggered by something.

She would have been way past halfway. Abortions are up to 12 week recommendations I think. After that, the practice could be considered more questionable, when a baby is more fully formed. Unless it is a backstreet abortion, clinics wouldn't perform the procedure after 12 weeks would they?

It's quite straight forward. In that situation the person is already thinking about the end result - the baby. If they miscarry then they have lost the chance to have the end result they were hoping for and expecting, and thus in their eyes they have "lost the baby".

Biologically they may well have only lost "a clump of cells", but since the expectation was a baby, then to them it is a baby that they have lost.

I see what you mean, spaniardo73

Why when after an anti-abortion woman gives birth, she does not tell people "My child is nine months old. His/her birthday already passed nine months ago." When I was an exchange student in Korea, I learned that they actually somewhat do age that way. When a person is born, the age begins with one year.

Well, birth itself is a big marker of person-hood. Note how frequently we refer to 'brand-new babies' and 'brand-new parents', meaning 'having just been born' or 'having just given birth'.
