Some people here are way to prissy

First off, this was an excellent movie. Its very dark and humorous at times. Some people say its too dark or no comedy. really? I laughed many times during the movie. The director did a fine job in giving the film a sense of paranoia. My favorite scene in the whole movie is when they get back to the hotel from the casino as they start to party, You could feel the Testosterone in the air. You got MMA on the tube, the drugs, the stripper, the guys start wrestling each other and everybody's going crazy and then the big mistake. that scene hit a certain note as every man whose ever partied for the sake of just being wild (as I have when i was a bit younger) could feel the tension just building up. People, the title itself gives you an idea that some FU***D up sh*t was about to happen.I get the feeling some People who dislike the movie are either tightly wound up and too sensitive or just arent used to dark comedies in the first place. In the simplest terms...if they gave you this script how the hell would you pull it off? just make it a cheezy, fuuny movie ? No way, this movie was done great by the director and all actors, especially Christian Slater. In my most humble opinion, I think Christian slater talking about forgetting about your human condition mightve struck some bad chords with some people. I thought it was genius. This movie is a hidden gem for exploring all topics and emotions such friendship, selfishness, love, comedy, temptations, hatred and or jealousy amongst siblings and then karma.Once again, Great movie!

I completely agree with you, I can see how some people would find this movie offensive, but I laughed so many times and I consider 'Very bad things' a classic that I would happily watch over, and over again... but I've always had a dark sense of humour.

Just thought you might like to know, one of my favourite parts of the film is Slater's speech about forgetting the human condition... mainly because I know if I was standing in that room listening to him, I would probably believe him.. and probably go along with him.

Slater's performance in this movie was amazing, I'll admit I haven't see too many of his films but I've never enjoyed him more in a movie than this one.

Thanks for your great opinion.

@saraz_whateva That's exactly what I thought about Christian Slater's speech. Its the worst situation to be in but he did make sense! And I also agree as Ive watched many Christian Slater movies(not a fan just by chance I guess)and alot of them were real cheezy but damn this has to be his best performance.Well this and True Romance.Like I said before this a great classic and a must watch.

@Southxabstract ... hahaha! I suppose if we've learned anything from this it's that we shouldn't be around Christian Slater on one of his good days.. we might do very bad things

Have you guys seen Heathers? That was a similar Christian Slater psychopath dark comedy. One of my favorites.

Yeah I loved it too, but I am too lame to admit to some prissier friends. It was a very sick but funny movie in so many ways.

Also, you are 100% on the mark about Sarah Palin, her fans are uniformly as stupid & backwards as she is. It's called identity politics. Ever tried to reason with one of them?

reply

Yeah but they start acting childish and try to talk over you with repeated words.

Its probably because he is absolutely right that people have a problem with it. They just want to hear how swell and nice everything is and a truth like Slaters statement simply doesnt fit in that illusion. Especialy loved the part "morals and values that have been stomped in your brain since gradeschool". His statement cant be countered as it is the truth, and that stings

I really liked the movie. I really enjoyed how the director was able to capture the anxiety of the characters. I mean, it almost felt like I was in their shows. The extreme paranoid feelings that these characters were getting. I enjoyed that part of the movie, thought it was something I hadn't really seen very much or at all in other films.

The *beep* up *beep* didn't bother me in the slightest. The problem with this movie is

1) it's not funny (I laughed once, at the 3 legged dog)
2) a large percentage of the movie is people yelling at each other, or being hysterical. Really annoying.

I agree with the above poster, I did not find this movie very funny and the movie itself seemed conflicted on what exactly it wanted to be. I mean I was down with them killing the hooker by accident, but that all changed when Christan Slater's character decided to murder the security guard and then they hacked them both to pieces. All the humor just felt very out of place and as a result made most of it feel very forced.

Then there was all the screaming, I'm glad most of the cast ended up dieing by the end, because I certainly wanted to kill them all myself.

Because sponges never have bad days.

It`s not "dark", it`s dumb and ugly and totally misguided as a comedy. With no point to it - at least none that`s even remotely soundly articulated, anyway.

Love this movie, enough to even put up with J Favreau and J Piven, who normally would be deal breakers for me.

Sarah Palin= Aggressive and inaccurate is a bad combination.
