Could not watch this movie

I understand it is supposed to be a comedy and not real, I mean I get that part of it...but maybe I've just lived away from my home country for too long and I'm no longer desensitized to this type of so called humor. I forced myself to watch (spoilers) up until the scene where they were cutting the guy in pieces in the bathtub.

I expect something like this in some horror movies but to make it a comedy, I'm not so sure that's a good thing (yes I get it, hence the name of the movie)....but something inside of me just can't get past the fact that I think way too much of the world is is getting desensitized to this type of film and I think I'd like to stay a bit sensitive a while longer.

I didn't look at it as a comedy. To me it was more of a psychological dark film. I mean, I guess it does have it's dark humor but that was not the main ingredient that got me to like this film. Personally, I liked how the film was able to capture the anxiety and paranoid feelings that these characters had after the hooker was killed. You see all of the characters are very different and you sort of get to see how they're feeling after what just happen.

I actually felt super nervous during the part where the guy was at the gas station and he felt like the cops had figured out that he killed the hooker in Las Vegas. The scene is so intense, and I love that about these kind of movies.

I'm sure positive I would never want to be in that kind of situation, but it's nice to step into these character's shoes for just 15 minutes or so and sort of get a feeling of what it could be like.

But, as far as the film been considered a comedy... I don't see it.

This was an exercise in meanness.

@SecretS_ChaoS:

Sorry, of course it's a comedy. A very dark comedy. The story is completely unrealistic and over the top, the script is littered with jokes, there are tons of slapstick elements in it - you'd need to ignore completely all of those elements to come to the conclusion this is anything other than a comedy.

I do agree with you, however, that it is more than a comedy. The psychological elements of it (the guilt, the breakdowns, the tension and the fear of the protagonists) are very well laid out. You could even interpret it as some kind of morality tale, along the lines of "what goes around, comes around". But, overall, this is a dark comedy. Too dark for some but a comedy nonetheless.

'I think way too much of the world is getting desensitized'

Then you have no idea of human history, people who say we are becoming desensitised by movies need to read a book. Children used to watch public executions and torture it's a fact we see a lot less violence than our ancestors.

This movies is an 18 your parents or grandparents depending on how old you are were going to fight in world war 2 at 17 and their parents were fighting in world war 1 at 17.

Yeah, the title does not lie. This film is very bad - not as of its quality, but as in "very bad things happen". Not everyone can handle it, there's nothing wrong with that, I see your point.
Completely disagree with the user who called this a "psychological dark film".
To me, like the OP said, it's a horror slasher mixed with a black comedy.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

If you can manage to get to the end, I think you might be glad you did. It is a most satisfying ending!
