A Horrible Movie about How Gross Straight People Are

Dumb and sad movie.

Gayest thread ever.

Sounds like dietplum is prejudice against straight people, which by the way is just as bad as being prejudice against gay people.

Grow up and get a sense of humor.

I should have just done the honest thing and murdered those emus

Dietplum is heterophobic. I say we organize a heterosexual parade for heterosexual rights.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

I agree. Lets form a straight pride parade and yell at the top of our lungs on how proud we are to be straight, and dont care what any gay people think. This really is the gayest thread ever, and i think the poster of this board should shut the hell up.

Yes, there is; Christian Slater instigates the kiss with Jon Favreau. But it's hostile and aggressive, though it lasts long enough to suggest an uneasy ambivalence on the part of one or both participants. Those who can't stand irony would miss this completely, though. For example, I'm surprised that Atheist Revolution had a negative reaction to this post. That's not the kind of atheism I practice. As far as an anti-gay parade, it's already happened. It's called history.

so you assume straight pride= anti gay? way to sound like an ass

I think the point is... that dominants talking about "pride" is pretty much "anti" by nature.

Heterosexual, white, upper class, wealthy males have a majority of the power.

Straight pride, white pride, male pride or even "wealth pride" (i guess) all have a connotation of oppression. If you already have power, what is the necessity to promote your pride? because you plan to dominate or subjugate? I think the poster that assumed "straight pride = anti-gay" is correct.

Heterosexuals have a "pride" parade every Thanksgiving... and it is sponsored by Macy's and televised. They also have them in most cities in the US around Christmas.

I can understand you're point. However, does this mean that people who happen to be a part of the 'dominant' group should therefore live with a constant sense of shame and self-hatred? Just curious to know.

I never said that the dominants should have shame or self-hatred... simply that being pro-power for yourself when you are already in power is pretty arrogant. Maybe if you are a dominant and understand that others are minorities then you would have tact and sympathy towards their lack of ability towards self-determination. Possibly, this could lead to empathy and actual concession of power and some semblance of equality... well, it is possible.

The fact remains, just as the person assumed that "straight pride" is "anti-gay" was not a fallacious leap, because it inherently is just that; the leap that the opposite of not being blatantly racist or anti-gay or whatever is being filled with shame and self-hatred is a huge fallacious leap - you do not have to be full of self-hatred to be straight and concede that gay people are not afforded equal rights.

Hah, go away loser, this movie was hilarious. I don't really see what it has to do with sexual orientation one way or the other.
