First of all I'm loving this season. I can't believe after 20 seasons they've still got it. Also the whole member berries thing is funny and also relatable. But I do wonder why they're going so heavy on the star wars "remembering" I love star wars and miss the good old ones, but there's so much other great stuff from the 70s, 80s and 90s that they need to reference. I hope they start to bring up other great stuff in the rest of the season

Yeah it was good. Not nearly as good as the originals, but still not bad. Way better than the prequels

Agreed. TFA was a pandering rehash of ANH wrapped in mediocre fanfic and painfully self-aware, virtually fourth wall-breaking winks to the OT. It had the returning OT heroes making choices that didn't ring true to their OT character arcs and a massive disconnect to the end of ROTJ; ZERO political context. This was a glorified, $200 million fan film... and these proposed standalone movies look to be exactly the same. It's up to Rian Johnson to at least somewhat right the ship with Episode VIII and get back more to Lucas' vision of this universe, or else SW is dead to me.
