if Padme had done the sensible thing and chosen Obi-Wan

I wonder what the story would've been like then? They'd still have to get Padme gone by death or other means by the end since she wasn't present or mentioned in the original, at least not as Obi-Wan's love since this is hypothetical.

Also they still would've needed to figure out a love interest for Anakin in order to get to Luke and Leia. Honestly I think it would've been best as a girl who is also in the Jedi Academy, and has been there since the time they normally are. She'd be bad-ass tough, they'd' start as rivals, then she'd take him under her wing, and over the years it would develop into more. As Anakin descended, a mission would take him away for a year, allowing her time to give birth without him knowing she was even pregnant. She would've had a showdown with Anakin at some point. Whatever her death was, would be better than from sadness.
