I don’t think EpIII was a good movie but it was better then I and II and gave a small hint at what Lucas was trying to achieve.

ROTS is the only Prequel movie I own. I figured that if it was impossible to get rid of the Special Editions, then I should have just one of the Prequels as a background as to why the SE stuff is in there in the first place. Besides, there is nothing memorable about the first two, which is basically poop and politics, a boring investigation and a hackneyed romance. Ugh.

Well, just speculating, but The Phantom Menace has the most Jar-Jar Binks, and he is a lightning rod of hate. It's also the most juvenile, from the super-young Anakin being "adorable" to the poo jokes. Capping it off is the mish-mash of plots that try for some political angles, but with no sophistication, and a complete tonal splotch (is it funny? a mystery? an action movie? about politics? what!?). Oh, and there's almost no scene that isn't tainted by foolishness. You're into the Jedi v. Sith fight? Too bad, it's ballet with halogen bulbs. You want to see the budding romance between the future Vader and his love? Well, sure, but one of them is pre-pubescent so the whole thing is creepy. You want to know more about Jedi history and lore? Surprise, mother*****r, midi-chlorians! (And the Jedi council are a bunch of stoic politicians who use sci-fi ESP cards).

Episode II has some of the most quoted "bad lines" (I'm thinking 'bout sand), a romance plot that is really awful and continues down the undercooked politics angle. I remember being REALLY disappointed by the clone stuff; it felt underwhelming.

Which leaves III. I think people think of the epic scope of the movie and the fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan. I found that fight boring - overlong, over-choreographed, and clogged with CG FX - but I guess some people liked it. Palpatine also gets to shine more here and Jar-Jar has no lines whatsoever. Or maybe people just felt a sense of relief... For my two cents, Ep.III is pretty much just as much of a gong show as the other two. It has its awful dialogue (more from Padme and Anakin), it reduces the previously decisive and strong Padme to a timid girl thinking about nothing but babies, and the final reasons for Anakin's defection are...pathetic. So, I'd say, yeah, it's about as crummy as the others.
