Dooku's death

How come Dooku didn't say one word to Anakin that Palpatine was the sith before he was decapitated. I mean it wouldn't have been much of story that if Palpatine was found out early on in the film, but they left enough gaps for Dooku to say something like "We Never Agreed to this" or "You Traitor".

I think we can assume that he was possibly taken aback so much that he was speechless. You can see the surprise on his face when Palpatine made the order. Though I know I would surely be angry and sing like a bird as soon as I realized what was happening.

Dooku in the films and the EU seems to adhere to some sort of honour code. It wouldn't surprise me if this included meeting your fate without complaint. He also knew that the way of the Sith was betrayal and he cannot really blame Palpatine for tricking him. Further he probably accepts he will die either way but for the Sith to win, Anakin must join them and undermining Palpatine would not help with that.

If the way of the Sith really was betrayal, surely he'd want to go out like a proper Sith and spill the beans to the Jedi as he went?

Be logical.

Betrayal of each other, but loyalty to the greater Sith cause. Spilling the beans would have hurt the Sith agenda.

There's a fan theory floating around that Jar-Jar Binks was supposed to be a Sith who fooled the Jedi with his idiocy, and revealed himself as their enemy in the second film. According to this theory, Dooku was brought in the last minute to replace Jar-Jar as the Sith apprentice, after even Lucas had to admit that viewers loathed the big twerp.

So... imagine Jar-Jar being cornered on the space ship, being defeated, mutilated, and killed by young Vader... Mmmmm....

Stop thinking rationally and logically, you'll only hurt yourself: it's the prequels, NOTHING makes sense.

Originally, Lucas wanted Dooku to beg for his life and say "Chancellor, please protect me." or something like that. But Christopher Lee felt that was out of character and convinced Lucas that it'd make more sense if Dooku were simply in too much shock (from the loss of his hands) to speak. In fact, Dooku's shocking expression when he looked at Palpatine was purely improvised. Lucas, who was already a big fan of Christopher Lee, respected him enough to have it his way.

What "Lostkiera" said in their second post.

It furthered the Sith agenda.

Sidious was the Master. Dooku the apprentice.

Palpatine took advantage of the situation.

I think Dooku accepted it anyway, seeing as he was defeated by Skywalker.

Granted, he didn't know that *eventually* Sidious was preparing Anakin to turn, but Dooku relented to his master's wish. Death for him and the Sith way.
