So why doesn't Vader wear a Sith robe?

Do Sith Lords get a choice: cape or robe? 

reply

He was worried it would get caught in his breathing apparatus and he would suffocate horribly mid-speech.

Admiral Ozzel, I told you to PERHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

reply

he thought its cooler.

reply

Come to think of it, why is he wearing it the first time they put his mask on? Fashion choices were being made while the guy was getting emergency medical attention?

reply

I mean he IS wearing a robe of sorts. He has the cape and robe over his metal/leather suit. I think it's essentially a Sith Knight armor.

reply

Yeah, kinda. He's got some drapes or something hanging from his shoulder pads, but nothing like the Emperor's robe.

reply

I thought the helmet was meant to look as though there was a hood on him, and his cape covers his shoulders like a robe. Alot of him is robot so, really bo point in actually wearing a robe, so he has the illusion of one. Grevious and him are pretty similar now that I thibk of it. Kylo Renns mask is SILLY, he has no purpose for it besides looking menicing.

reply

Because he thought that it would clash with body armour?

reply

Yeah, Anakin always was very fashion conscious

I didn't see any other Jedi wearing black leather vests 

reply

kylo ren helmet makes him look like a duck.

reply

Was Kylo’s attire a cape with a hoodie or a robe with a hoodie? I thought it was neat especially his first scene coming off the space ship on Jakku.

Well, he learned from his wife Padme who never wears the same outfit twice even when she is on a sudden and unexpected mission and couldn't possibly have had time to pack multiple fancy dresses and hair accessories. (Or perhaps C3P0 packs them for her?)

reply

Because at the time the original movie was made, there were no Sith robes or capes :)

And the Jedi didn't have tatooine/desert attire as their official uniform.

I'm just on my way up to Clavius.

reply

I don't mind the Jedi robes, they look comfortable and practical, but it's a bit odd they never change clothes ever. Even military personnel in real life have different uniforms for different occasions or situations. Do the Jedi have different sets of robes? Do they start to smell after a while?

reply

Do they start to smell after a while?

And if so, which Jedi do you think smelled worst?

"And the Jedi didn't have tatooine/desert attire as their official uniform."

Sheesh, how did I never realize that? You're right, Kenobi wore that in the original trilogy, so they just decided that's what all Jedi wear.

reply

Dooku only had a cape.

reply

Dooku was a fashion separatist

There are not such things as Sith Robes. Every Sith wears what he likes. robes are a Jedi thing and a rather free choice as well.

Sith wouldn't have something as a dress code, it's too limiting and the sith are all for not limiting anything.

Seems like the Jedi don't take very good care of theirs. They're always taking 'em off and throwing 'em on the ground when they fight, and even losing them in some cases (such as during Palpatine's rescue). Maybe that's why Vader opted to go with the cape.

reply

He does wear one before he has to be put into the suit. He's got the hoodie on just like the emperor wears when he gets to Mustafar.
