Young Anakin was intolerable! That smarmy kid was terrible. Winning the pod race was totally unrealistic. The kid just grates on your nerves. I disliked him intensely. The only worse thing was young adult Anakin. What an uninteresting person he was.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

shareMany people in discussion boards such as these seem to lack any kind of tolerance for children. I think I've seen a "terrible children" topic on every movie that features a child or children in anything other than a background, non-speaking character.
Not on the Logan or Stranger Things boards though, it's either child actors or the Hollywood casting directors that are improving. Those actors are fantastic.

Most of the complaints/hate in this and about the PT in general really aren't especially thoughtful.
That being said as someone who likes the prequels but can still acknowledge the flaws I feel Anakin definitely should have been played by Hayden Christiansen through all three films.
We had to spend 2 movies being introduced to and getting to know Anakin because they are essentially different characters.
