If it wasn't for Serleena, Earth would've been destroyed.

Okay, basic idea here is if the Light of Zartha isn't removed from Earth by "this time" on "this day", the world will blow up. Now take Serleena out of the picture. Who on Earth knows about the Light??

J - knew nothing about it.

K - had his memory wiped. Living happily as a postmaster.

Zed - said "this was taken care of long ago". Which means he wasn't making any moves to find the Light because he thought it was already gone.

Laura - she IS the Light, but doesn't know it.

Ben the Pizza Guy - might be a loophole. He seemed to know what was going on, and told Serleena that the Light would be off Earth by "tomorrow at midnight", but as of the time he was killed, he didn't appear to be making any moves to get Laura prepared.

Well??

Ben apparently WAS in the process of sending her off. His whole speech about (paraphrased) 'Someday people will look back and go 'wow, she started working at this pizza place'' when showing off her award plaque originally seems to indicate she'll eventually be something higher up in some corporate ladder, but once you realize everything, it makes sense that he's basically saying that 'One day people will come in here and go, 'Wow! The Queen started HERE!??!''
