Bulimia issue

isn't it a bad message to show how lara flynn boyle was supposed to be a "supermodel" then eats a guy, gets fat, and then throws him up?

reply

Excuse me but, when did that happen? Did we watch the same movie?

Just watched this last night again (yes, I watched the same movie as the OP). I don't think it's referencing any dissorder. The alien had chosen an image to model her disguise on. In order to do that she had to remove any excess weight. She went behind the bush to do this. We don't know whether she puked, crapped or sweated the bulk off.
Hey, it's comedy. And it doesn't matter in this case.

A comedy, fantasy, sci-fi, family entertainment movie isn't the place to address social, medical and personal issues like bulimia.

reply

I assumed she crapped him out.

I am watching it with the closed caption on and it says she vomited. Either way im sure the scene was not supposed to be used as a reference for an eating disorder. going way too deep into this

You are mixing reality with fantasy.
Her character is an alien that feeds in that manner and just because
the alien puts on a LFB skin does not mean it can eat like a human.

Do you ever actually enjoy movies you watch or get stuck on stuff like this?

reply

I thought she shat him out.
