the whole scene with Storm's infamous line about what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning was bad

First Toad comes in and starts using his terrible-looking CGI tongue. Then before he attacks Jean Grey he does this stupid little dance as if that's going to trick her into thinking that he's harmless and not a bad guy. He stops after a few seconds of the little dance and then starts looking menacing again, seeming as if he's satisfied that he actually tricked her for a few seconds and that somehow accomplished something. After spitting the green stuff on Jean's face, Storm looks down from the upper floor with a look of shock on her face. So what does she do given the gravity of the situation? She starts walking calmly towards the elevator as if she's in no hurry. Then when he gets up to her level and is standing right in front of her she just puts her hand up as if she's going to use the Force against him.

Just terrible.

I understand why you don't like it. I enjoy this movie but frankly wish they'd have used Juggernaut instead of Toad and had his comic backstory of being Xavier's stepbrother who resented him being more liked by his father. Instead, we get Toad who even in a lot of comics is just lame. Heck, in the Silver Age Toad was just Magneto's bumbling lackey. If some people like Toad that's fine but he would not show up on my favorite X-Men villains list.

Yeah, they were gearing it up to be like a funny quip or joke, and it just fell flat.
