Ah, so you know what my favourite movies are, eh? What are they, pray tell, and why are they so bad?

It's boring to me - all IMO - because it was haphazardly planned, developed, and executed. Episodes upon episodes occurred where stuff simply happened, with little to no effort given as to how it all tied in together, until it became a real sloppy mess.

For what it's worth, I do think most of the best character development/evolution with Mulder and Scully occurred within the mytharc episodes, and many of the mytharc-specific characters like Cigarette Smoking Man and X were just plain awesome.

It's you vs the world.
