This was a good transition from television to film

I enjoyed this movie and felt it was a good transition from television to film. It's not perfect by any means but it was entertaining and feels more like an actual movie than it's mediocre sequel. I liked how Mulder and Scullys relationship is fleshed out and more intimate in this movie.

You guys should check out the marathon I did for this movie titled When They Arrive Undercover. You can check it out on my blog.

the story was great and a good transition because non fans of the X files could just watch the movie and not need to know the show.

But It felt like the quality of the acting and the music went down, I dont know how to explain it but it felt cheesier than the show.

Boy, i couldn't disagree more. This is probably the best Mark Snow has ever done. He had a full orchestra this time. It's not a bombastic score (X-Files plays subtle with the music) but it fits and has it's moments.

Acting was great as well. It can't count how many times i rewatched M&S pre-kiss speech, or they final conversation at the park and they are perfect. Even Duchovny who usually is a bit wooden.

I thought Mark Snow's score was great in the film, it was nice that he was able to do more than what you'd hear in an episode of the show, like you mentioned with having a full orchestra for this film.

Agreed. I watched it again last night and it seemed as X-Files'y as the series ever did.

I agree. This was about as good of a transition to the big screen as one could hope for. It maintained the style and tone of the series but managed to take things on a large scale befitting of the big screen.
